Micro-motion and disc degeneration

All the discs in your spine, the two lowest ones tend to be the most effected by strain and become herniated more than discs in other areas. This causes sciatic pain which you will feel in your feet and legs.

Too many twisting movements causes large spinal muscles to strain

When you are experiencing back pain, more than likely the pain has more to do with ligaments and muscles surrounding your spine rather than the bones of your spine. This is a common misconception. When you engage in motion that involves your back twisting, activities, like swinging a golf club or dancing or unloading the groceries from your car, tearing ligaments and muscles (or overstretching them in any way), becomes much more probable. If any damage is sustained during these activities, the body responds naturally with inflammation. Inflammation, as you know, simply causes more problems and more pain, such as back spasms.
